iRelate

About

We are building a home for the things you have saved.

iRelate started in a simple, uncomfortable place: the realization that most of the things we keep — photographs, voice notes, documents — are slowly losing the meaning they once carried. Not because the artifacts are degrading, but because the context that gave them meaning is. Memories fade. People pass. The story behind the photograph is forgotten.

Consciousness archaeology

We named the work consciousness archaeology because it felt honest. Archaeology is the careful reconstruction of meaning from fragments. We are not building a photo organizer. We are building a tool for the careful reconstruction of meaning from the fragments of a life.

What we believe

  • Memory is relational. A photograph of your grandmother in her kitchen is not the same artifact as the photograph plus the recipe taped to the fridge plus the voice note from the daughter who inherited it. The meaning lives in the relationships.
  • The role of software is to make the invisible visible. iRelate’s job is to surface connections you didn’t know were there. We don’t organize your memories. We help you see how they were already organized.
  • Privacy is the product. A memory workspace that trains on your data is not a memory workspace. It is a content engine with a memory-shaped API. We refuse to build that.
  • Honesty over impressive. We’d rather say “this doesn’t work yet” than pretend something is finished. The product is in private beta. Some of what we’re promising is still being built. You will know which parts.

What iRelate is not

iRelate is not a social network. We have no followers, no likes, no engagement metrics. iRelate is not a photo editor. We do not optimize for time spent. We are not a note-taking app. We do not compete with your documents folder.

We do not sell your data. We do not show you ads. We do not train models on your artifacts. We do not have a third-party analytics SDK. We do not embed third-party fonts. We do not have a content moderation team because we are not a content platform.

iRelate is a private workspace for the people and moments that matter to you. That is the whole product.

Where we are

iRelate is in private beta. The system is built on open foundations: PostgreSQL for durability, Apache AGE for graph relationships, Neo4j for memory, vector search for similarity. The architecture is documented in the how it works page.

We are a small team. We build deliberately. We ship when things work. If you’d like to be part of the early cohort, you can request an invite.
